Welcome to Robert Townson High School's

Hearing Support Unit (HIU)

The HIU at Robert Townson High School aims to cater for students' individual academic, social and vocational needs.

 

The HIU has been a part of Robert Townson High School since 1989 and has a proud tradition of student success.  Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and staff are an integral part of the whole school.

The HIU staff has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience working with students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  The staff in our unit work as a cohesive team to provide high-quality support.  Our team has a combination of Deaf and hearing staff including teachers and school learning support officers (SLSO's).
