We provide innovative opportunities for our students to succeed in a range of academic, creative and sporting programs. We cater for our students needs by delivering a rich and diverse curriculum that allows our students to foster their growth; whether that be for further tertiary education or post-school career development. With strong links to the community and local TAFE institutions, our students are presented with opportunity to engage in TVET course, work-ready programs and training for further qualification. Our specialised and supportive staff are dedicated in developing our students results through an inspiring and invigorating curriculum program across Years 7 to 12.

Robert Townson High School is a comprehensive high school serving the communities of Raby and St Andrews in the City of Campbelltown. We place a high value on learning and are committed to providing a safe and secure environment in which students have the means to achieve their best academically, culturally and socially. A diverse curriculum incorporates traditional, general interest and vocational courses to meet the needs and abilities of students. The school community supports the school's insistence on full uniform and high standards of student behaviour at all times. There is a strong demand for enrolment from non-local students.

Robert Townson (1763-1827)

Our History

Robert Townson High School was established in 1987 to serve the communities of Raby, St Andrews, Bow Bowing and Varroville in the City of Campbelltown.

The school was named after Robert Townson a scholar, scientist and settler.  He was probably baptised on 4 April 1762 at Richmond, Surrey, England.  Robert was the son of John Townson, merchant.

Robert's zest for natural history dictated his activities for many years.  He travelled widely as a gentleman scholar, collaborating with the professors at the universities he visited.  In 1791 he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinborough.
