At Robert Townson High School, our vision is to equip our students with the academic and work ready skills to enter our 21st century society. We will do this through authentic academic challenges provided by skilled and committed staff and student development programs built on student needs. This will be provided in a learning environment that is valued and reflective of the 21st century world of work.
We are continuing to offer in 2019, a Self Select class for our year 8 stream which will require current year 7 students and their families to apply for and to meet a certain criteria to be selected for this exciting opportunity.
Students in the Self Select class will be a unified group of students that will commit to their learning in all subjects and be given opportunities to be involved in whole class and school projects throughout the year.
Through a wide range of learning opportunities provided by our staff we will endeavour to build and develop our student’s skills to prepare them for the world or work and further learning.
The application process involves three components
1. Application form completed
2. Feedback from classroom teachers and reviewing student data
3. Panel selection process and feedback to applicants
