As of today the school had received ten RSVPs to attend the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Robert Townson High School, scheduled for Saturday 11th November 2017. Considering the impact on people, organisation and resourcing, I have elected to cancel the event. Details for this will be advertised on Facebook, local press, school correspondence and the school website.
We understand that from Facebook posts, more people indicated they would be interested in attending; however, our planning can only be made based on the numbers we had. We noticed from previous FB posts that a newspaper advertisement might have had a spelling mistake. We regret this if true, as there is no way to know who these people may be and contact them directly. I will however be making contact with those names we do have, invited guest as well as staff and students.
At this late stage in the year, there are no plans for an alternative event however I will be taking advice from the school community.
